The Toreros stayed within reach by controlling the glass but struggled to find offensive rhythm early, committing several turnovers that limited scoring opportunities in the first half.

The Toreros responded in the second half, scoring 35 points after the break and attacking the paint to erase the deficit. Despite committing 20 turnovers, USD continued to respond defensively, recording 12 steals and forcing Oregon State into mistakes late in regulation to send the game to overtime.

Overtime featured traded baskets and physical play on both ends. A momentum-shifting dunk by Ty-Laur Johnson (#5) energized the crowd midway through the period, though a technical foul assessed moments later halted the run. Oregon State converted at the free-throw line down the stretch, finishing the night with 18 made free throws.
